Who We Are
The Human Rights Development Centre (HRDC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, dedicated to building a Bangladesh free from torture, discrimination, and injustice. Since 1996, we have worked to strengthen human rights and democracy through evidence-based advocacy, rigorous research, and meaningful community engagement.HRDC supports survivors of torture and violence with specialized psychosocial care and rehabilitation delivered by experienced professionals, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity. We also offer legal pro bono aid to ensure access to justice for those who cannot afford it. By combining research and documentation with capacity-building, rehabilitation and direct support, HRDC creates a solid foundation for systemic change.Our team collaborates closely with civil society organizations, NGOs, government agencies, legal and medical professionals, researchers, social workers, international partners and volunteers to promote justice, accountability, and equality. We work to protect human dignity, rehabilitation, empower marginalized communities, and advance the principles of human rights and democracy across Bangladesh.
