Advocacy & Campaign

Comprehensive, survivor-centred rehabilitation services for individuals
who have experienced torture, violence, and severe trauma.

Our approach is grounded in international human rights principles and global standards on
Advocacy & Campaign, recognizing that recovery is not only medical, but also psychological, social,
and legal in nature.

Our Campaigns & Advocacy: Standing Up for Rights

We engage with policymakers, government institutions, law enforcement agencies, and judicial bodies to influence laws, policies, and institutional reforms that uphold justice, accountability, and human dignity. Through policy dialogue, memorandum submissions, consultations, and technical inputs, we advocate for the effective implementation of national laws and international obligations, including the UN Convention Against Torture (UNCAT), Optional Protocol to UNCAT (OPCAT) and related human rights instruments.

Public Awareness Campaigns

HRDC conducts public awareness campaigns to challenge impunity, reduce stigma, and build public understanding of human rights violations, torture, and mental health & psychosocial harm. Using community outreach, media engagement, digital platforms, and advocacy materials, we amplify survivor voices and promote a culture of respect for human rights and rule of law.

Strategic Litigation and Legal Advocacy

Strategic litigation and legal advocacy are key components of our work. In collaboration with legal professionals and human rights networks, we support cases that seek accountability for perpetrators, redress for survivors, and systemic change. These efforts aim not only to secure justice in individual cases but also to create legal precedents that strengthen human rights protections.

Coalition-Building and Collaboration

We also prioritize coalition-building and collaboration with civil society organizations, survivor groups, professional bodies, and international partners. Through joint advocacy initiatives and coordinated campaigns, we strengthen collective action, enhance visibility of human rights issues, and promote sustainable reform.

Across all advocacy and campaign activities, HRDC follows ethical, survivor-centred, and do-no-harm principles. We ensure informed consent, confidentiality, and risk mitigation, recognizing the safety and dignity of survivors as central to meaningful advocacy.
